iElect: A Two-Day Mock Presidential Election
Friday and Saturday! For Teens, Pre-Teens and Young Adults! There is no additional fee for this pathway!
Have you ever wondered if you have what it takes to run for President of the United States? Now you have the chance! Build coalitions and interact in press conferences while learning about our system of government and how faith and politics intersect. At each phase of the program, students will learn how a real election works by actually participating in the presidential race and making important decisions that could make or break their campaign. Interspersed will be interactive lectures about our nation’s system of government, our Founders’ intent, why Christians need to be involved in our government and how young people can make a difference in our nation. The program is designed to be interactive, even getting parents and other attendees involved in the process. During scheduled breaks, participating students will interact with the adults attending the conference by having them register to vote, donate GenJ money and vote for their favorite candidate. All adults will be given an envelope containing GenJ money and information about the program when they pick up their handbooks. The program culminates with an election as the candidates seek votes from their peers and parents. The hands-on nature is sure to be enjoyed!
