2013 ICHE Mother Daughter Day - A Day to Remember!
Valerie Elliot Shepard challenged mothers to remember that there is no formula for raising perfect children. Only God can transform their hearts. As mothers, we need to remember not to live for our own reputation. Rather, we need to live for God. Because we are children of God, not orphans, we should not try to raise our children in our own strength. The theme verse of the day echoed that thought.
II Corinthians 12:9 "And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me." (NASB)
In addition, the Lord blessed attendees with opportunities to visit with each other over a delicious lunch served by many delightful volunteers. The setting with beautiful floral bouquets and lovely harp music was refreshing. Many smiling faces and gracious hearts made for a very memorable day.
